The third Imam Abu Hanifa Exhibition, held in Kabul with 700 booths, concluded today (October 13). The exhibition, organized to promote domestic products and expand trade, attracted significant attention. It was visited by around 700,000 people, and during the event, 100 contracts were signed between Afghan and foreign traders, along with 324 contracts among domestic entrepreneurs, with a total value of 110 million Afghanis.
Out of the total booths, 130 were dedicated to women entrepreneurs, and 70 Iranian companies showcased their products, highlighting the growing strength of regional and international trade cooperation.
The exhibition also received support from international organizations, which emphasized the importance of establishing microfinance banks in Afghanistan to strengthen small businesses, especially in underprivileged areas, so that more people can benefit from such opportunities and grow their enterprises.
Despite its success, challenges such as electricity shortages in industrial parks and transit-related issues still remain. These problems need to be addressed through increased foreign investment and international support. In the recent Doha meeting, there was also a call for the creation of a working group to help improve Afghanistan’s economic situation and to ensure continued collaboration between the international community, the United Nations, and the Afghan authorities.
This exhibition is considered a valuable step toward supporting domestic production and expanding Afghanistan’s trade ties with the world. The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has emphasized the importance of continuing such exhibitions to further strengthen the country’s economy.
