The Majid Zabuli Center for Economic Research and Policy Analysis was established in honor of the legacy of one of Afghanistan’s greatest economic thinkers, Abdul Majid Zabuli. Zabuli was the founder of Afghanistan’s first national bank (Bank Milli Afghan) and a pioneer of the country’s industrial development, dedicating his entire life to promoting Afghanistan’s economic independence, diversification, and growth.
Zabuli laid the foundation for Afghanistan’s economic advancement in banking, industry, trade policy, and public administration. Today, the Center builds on this historical legacy by conducting high-standard research, facilitating policy discussions, and strengthening capacities to find solutions to Afghanistan’s economic challenges.
The Zabuli Center believes that knowledge, scientific research, and transparent policymaking are essential pillars of national development. We strive to keep alive Abdul Majid Zabuli’s legacy of economic independence, innovation, and human capital development.
